Is My Break Repairable?

Most windshield breaks are repairable (and covered by insurance) if they meet the following conditions:

  • They are shorter than a dollar bill (6”)
  • They are not in the driver’s viewable area
  • They are not in the ADAS camera view
  • The chip is relatively new

Windshield Chip Repairs are typically FREE with comprehensive insurance. If you want to pay cash, we are not the cheapest, but we are the best!"

How Will You Fix My Crack?

Our expert technicians do repairs the RIGHT way...

Step 1 - Evaluate it to make sure it’s repairable.

Step 2 - Clean the break of dirt

Step 3 - Vacuum moisture and oxygen from the break

Step 4 - Inject resin throughout the break

Step 5 - Repeat 3 & 4 until the entire break is filled with resin

Step 6 - Cure the resin in the break with natural (or mechanized) UltraViolet light

Step 7 - Cap and polish the break to prevent further dirt and debris from entering the windshield.

Chip Repair Game - How Many Can You Get Right?

  1. The newer the break, the more successful the repair.
TRUE. A break is repaired by removing dirt, oxygen and moisture, then injecting the break with resin and curing it. The newer the break, typically the less dirt, oxygen and moisture needs to be removed allowing the resin to flow freely throughout the entire crack.
  2. I should wait until the break spreads to fix it.
FALSE. If it becomes too big, insurance won’t cover it. If it spreads too far, the safety of your windshield is compromised.
  3. Windshield repairs are FREE if I have comprehensive insurance.
TRUE. Most insurance companies would prefer to pay us to repair your windshield than pay to replace your windshield; it saves them money. Our expert team will be happy to help you contact your insurance company with you on the line to find out the specifics of your coverage.
  4. The windshield break will vanish after the repair.
FALSE. There will always be a “scar” of some kind on the windshield after a repair. Remember, this is not a cosmetic repair; the repair is meant to prevent the break from spreading further across your windshield.
  5. I should immediately fix any damage to my windshield as soon as it occurs.
TRUE. Your windshield is designated as a safety device by the U.S. federal government. Your windshield is designed to specific regulations to protect you and your passengers in an accident: it supports the performance and inflation of passenger-side airbags, it keeps you in the vehicle and provides structural strength.
