An OEM windshield McAllen quote is about the part number, brackets, and optics — not about a logo stamped in the corner to win an argument. Some cars need the dealer pane for the camera and the HUD. Some take a quality aftermarket that fits the VIN. We tell you which one we can get and what it means for calibration.
OEM, OEE, and aftermarket
OEM usually means the same supplier or the dealer box. OEE is often the same factory without the car-brand mark. Aftermarket quality varies. Camera cars are picky about optics. We would rather wait a day on the right glass than set a pane that will not calibrate.
Price gaps are real. So are rain sensors that do not seat. Ask. We list the part on the quote.
Insurance and glass brand
Carriers may specify aftermarket. You can often pay the difference for OEM. That is your policy, not our argument with the adjuster. We document the part we install.

HUD, acoustic, and solar panes
Heads-up display glass is a projector screen. The wrong pane double-images the speedometer. Acoustic interlayers cut highway roar. Solar coatings cut some heat. If your window sticker had those, say so. We order to the VIN when the car is picky. If you want to save money on an older commuter without cameras, we will say when aftermarket is enough.
Do not assume “OEM” on a website cart is the dealer box. Ask who makes it and whether the camera bracket is molded correctly. We would rather lose a rushed sale than set a pane we have to cut out next week.
Keep your old glass markings if you want us to match logos. A photo of the VIN plate and the old DOT mark helps.
Dropping the car at Suite P
The shop is 304 E Pecan Blvd, Suite P, McAllen. Hours are Mon–Fri 8:30–5:30 and Sat 12–4. Sunday we are closed. Work is in-shop only. We do not offer home or mobile glass service. Pull in, bring the key, and tell us the year, make, model, and which glass failed. A daylight photo sent to 956-360-0178 before you drive over saves a wasted trip if the part is on order.
You can wait in the lobby on many shorter jobs. Replaces and regulator work take longer. Bring a charger. Pets stay with you. If a lender or dealer holds a second key, say so we can lock the car in the lot. Fleet drivers should bring the PO or unit number. We quote from what we see on this vehicle, not from a ZIP-code widget.
After the job, keep the receipt. Ask about drive-away time, the first car wash, and whether a camera light might need a return visit. Workmanship, leaks, and defects terms are on the after-your-glass-work page. That is not a free 12-month road-hazard replacement plan. A new rock hit is a new inspection.
If the car has a heads-up display, the wrong pane can stack a ghost speedometer. If it has an acoustic interlayer, a cheap piece can roar on 83. We read the VIN and the old DOT mark when the car is picky. Aftermarket is fine on many older trucks with no camera. Camera cars wait for the part that will aim.
